About Me

I'm a 41 year old mother of two boys. I live in California, but am a NC native. I love crafting - knitting and sewing, and most recently quilting - and anything involving glue, scissors, paint and paper (especially planner stuff)! Travel is a passion, and we have been exploring the National Parks every chance we get.

My grandmother used to describe herself as a "Jack of all trades, master of none", and I would say I'm a lot like her! I know a little about a lot of things, but not a lot about any one thing. So...I'm great at dinner parties, and at craft stores (ugh).

I would describe my style as very simple -- I like to let the colors of the fabric and yarn speak rather than a pattern. I love deep colors, and also neutrals.

I still send birthday cards in the mail and can't bring myself to stop sending a pile of christmas cards in December.

Favorite Music

So much! Beatles, Indigo Girls, Paul Simon, Madonna, Pearl Jam, Tom Petty, Queen, Cat Stevens (yes, I have an affinity for singer songwriters!)

Favorite Books

To Kill a Mockingbird, Harry Potter series, The Night Circus, The Time Traveller's Wife, Wild (by Cheryl Strayed)...will add more as I think of it!+

Favorite Movies

Say Anything, When Harry Met Sally, About Time, A Christmas Story, Dirty Dancing, LOTR Trilogy, Sixteen Candles

Favorite Television

Lost, Parenthood (current series), Breaking Bad, Shameless, Modern Family.....

and most of those shows have been cancelled since I wrote this! More recently, I love Game of Thrones, Stranger Things, and This is Us.

ABC's of Likes

Just a cute little thing I saw on someone else's profile! Humor me. ;-)

Amazon.com (!), Board games, Chocolate, coffee, costco, Christmas, cheese, Downton Abbey, Eggs, Food (see G: gym), Game of Thrones, going to the gym, greeting cards, Harry Potter (just like everyone else), India, Jigsaw puzzles, Knitting, Lost, Lord of the Rings, My kiddos, mail, mid-century modern, National parks, Oranges, organizing, Postage stamps, puzzles, paper, planners, PENS, Quilting, Reading, running, Stranger Things, scrabble, sweets, sewing, shopping, Tea (Earl Grey and Yogi Chai flavors), Trader Joes, travelling, Umbrellas, Vintage pyrex, Washi...all the washi, Xacto knives (how could I craft without them?), Youtube, yoga, Z (I got nothing for Z)

Quick Profile Hello #1

Hello from Texas! I'm actually re-watching Breaking Bad with my boyfriend right now. I love it and LOST and The Sopranos even though none of the series ended satisfactorily for me. Maybe I just didn't want them to end! Take care!, Christy

Hello from York, PA! Love that you send birthday cards in the mail, it's always so nice to find a cheerful card in the mail and not many people take the time anymore.

I love rust, orange, peacock blue, and basically anything colorful. No allergies! My favorite symbol is probably the hamsa - an Arabic symbol of protection. I'm not picky. :-) thanks!

I'm your partner for the Tea, etc... Swap and wanted to ask a few things:

Favorite color? Any allergies? Symbols, animals, patterns that you love or hate?

Thanks so much and welcome to swapbot!
